Riviera headed up to Kings Beach, Lake Tahoe for the Tahoe Nalu last weekend…. It was an awesome event for all competitors. Team Rider Danny Ching won the elite race on his new 404 14′ race board and the Danny Ching Riviera paddle. He then came back Sunday to win the 10 mile race on his OC 1, and lead Team Riviera to a 3rd place finish in the relay. It wasn’t all racing though everyone got to demo all the new Riviera Boards and surf the small wind swell coming in at Kings Beach. The 404 12′6″ Raceboard made by Riviera was unveiled and weighs in at an earth shattering 13lbs. Be on the look out for this board in the near future.

Andy Lukei from Austin Paddle Sports stopped by to give the new 10’-6” Danny Ching 404 model a try. Andy loved the board and said it is the perfect Board for training. You can now see the new 404 10’-6” at Austin Paddle Sports in Austin Texas.

In a small factory just east of Lake Tahoe, off Hwy. 395, standup paddleboard design just notched another first. Out of the tool Monday, at just over 11 lbs., 404’s Monster Ltd. is primed to be the fastest flat water, downwind racer on the market. In the gamble between weight and glide, 404 is betting light.

Utilizing Aviso’s hollow, all-carbon, composite engineering technology, the Monster Ltd. is a near-perfect replication of 404’s original 12′6 race design for Danny Ching, minus some 7 lbs.

The Monster Ltd. is another step toward the quiver mentality. For flat water or downwind races, we are thinking the lighter the board the better.

We stepped up to sponsor the 2nd annual Round The Rock race in Washington, September 12, 2010. Last years event was huge with 150 competitors….this year looks like it will be even bigger.
