404 SUP and Riviera Paddles Team Rider Brian Haag recently made a trip down to baja. As you can see from the picture above, Brian has the ultimate Baja rig and is not afraid to use it... Check out the photos below of Brian scoring good surf and exploring Baja Mex. Like always, we'd love to share the GPS coordinates of these spots, but when you find it yourself it will be that much better!
This years Key West Classic was a great event despite the challenging conditions on the 13 Mile course. The Riviera Crew had a great time visiting with our East Coast Reps and Shops, and enjoying all that Key West has to offer. The race was brutal with side wind and head wind most of the race, but Thomas 'Maximus' battled the conditions to take 1st place overall on his Unlimited, and Riviera Team Rider Helga Goebel took 1st place in the womens 14' class on a 404 14' zeedonk. The relay race was probably the highlight of the event because it is so exciting to watch, and is fun for anyone to participate. Here are a few pictures from the event!
Stand Up for the Cure 2013 was Huge! If you missed it this year, you have to get there next year. Why is it so fun? Well, because fun is what this event is all about. In all our years of hosting events, and demos, we have never had so many people out on paddleboards for their first time. With all the racing and surf contests going on lately it was nice to get out on the water with 800 of our closest friends an just go for a paddle... Did we mention this years Stand up for the Cure raised more than $40,000 on saturday. We would like to thank Dan Van Dyck, Judie Vivian, and the whole crew at SUFTC for a great event, as well as all the participants, sponsors, and teams that rallied together to raise money and awareness for The Susan G Komen Foundation.
Also a huge congratulations to The SUP Chicks So-Cal for their team effort in raising $20,000!!! Check them out below with their Giant Check! Great Job Sup Chicks!
TODAY is the last day to get online and pre-register for the event on May 4th, 2013, in Newport Beach! Don't miss out on this great event and great cause. There are 650+ Paddlers registered already, so it is sure to be a record breaking SUP event!
